The Last Supper (in Italian Il Cenacolo or L'Ultima Cena) is a mural painting created by Leonardo Da Vinci for Duke ludovico Sforza and the Duchess Beatrice. Leonardo created the Last Supper in the years 1495–1498 and it is a representation of the final supper that Jesus had with his disciples before being arrested and crucified. Together with the Mona Lisa, it is probably the most famous work of the artist and is immediately recognisable to most people, even now, more than 500 years later.
